The Adena Mound Museum
Ohio, 2004 In collaboration with Joe Dahmen |
|||
This proposal is a museum devoted to the Adena Culture whose earthworks comprise some of the oldest built forms on the North American Continent. Rather than a static showcase for the material objects of the Adena culture, the museum acknowledges the problematic relationship of archeology to the destruction of the mounds by displaying no physical artifacts. Instead, the museum uses technological representations to avoid the fetishization of the material objects of the culture to which it is devoted. |
